L. William “Bill” Melvin died April 18, 1983 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.  He was born Sept 13, 1905 in Caputa, SD to Lawrence and Amelia Melvin.  Bill was a lifelong resident of Rapid City and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1926.  He married Mae Lampert on June 10, 1931 in Rapid City, SD.

 He worked in the construction industry.   At the time of his death he was employed by Summit Construction Co.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge No 25, Royal Arch Masons, Naja Temple Shrine.

Survivors include his wife, Mae of Rapid City; two daughters, Gail & husband, Charles Gelino of Miltona, MN and Joyce and husband, Philip Bjork of Rapid City; five granddaughters, Kathy Gelino, Sue Gelino, Beth Gelino, Tanja Bjork, Lara Bjork, and two brothers, T. Edward Melvin and Leonard Melvin of Rapid City.

Services were at Behrens Mortuary under the direction of Masonic Lodge No 25.
